Thankfully Jon didnt have to work Christmas Day, we had actually planned a Christmas with him working, so we had to adjust a little. Christmas Eve we let the kids open one gift(how can you not?) :) It's like a little tease! We didnt have any cookies for Santa, so we left a piece of fudge and chocolate chip cheesecake, milk, and carrots for the reindeer! I always leave a fake letter from Santa for the kids. So Christmas morning, I woke the kids up at 7am.The first thing Jaylene does is go straight to Santas letter and she was so shocked and pleased that "santa" drank the milk and ate the goodies! She enjoys the "thank you letter" too! I give it till next Christmas that she wont believe anymore. I can see some signs already and she asks too many questions! I read somewhere that this person doesnt like the idea of Santa because its not fair to the children in other countries or children who are in need. They feel sad because they think Santa doesnt love them enough to bring them presents! I never thought of that, it made me sad. But I wont let it spoil my childrens happiness, I will continue teaching them to reach out to those in need. We could have done more this year, I'm guilty. Last year, we went to Pearlridge and pulled 2 names off their Christmas tree(to help those less fortunate)and bought them a gift. Jaylene was so excited and felt great! When you help someone, its like a surge of adrenaline, and a warm feeling in your heart, and I want my kids to help others, not to look good or holy-er than thou, but because its the right thing to do! Back to Christmas, so we opened gifts, Jaylene was the sorter of gifts, and she got sad cause Eric had more gifts than her. I dont know how that happened. But I spent the same. I told her, as you get older, you may get less, but the quality is greater! Eric got a lot of "little" toys. She got more savvy toys! But I will be careful of that next Christmas! I, myself got an ipod touch from Jon that I picked up 2 weeks before Christmas! I absolutely love it and am addicted to Words With Friends!! (even though I am only an average word maker, its fun) The kids also love the ipod. It keeps them busy and there are lots of free apps for all of us to enjoy! And even if you want to buy an app, most of them are only 99 cents!! Jaylene was lucky enough to get her Aunty Jens old ipod(she got a new one) and Jaylene loves it!! its the next best thing to a phone, which she has been asking for, but shes only 7!! Show me a 7 yr old who has or needs a phone!! come on!! I didnt even have a pager till I was in high school!! remember pagers? lol! 143.....823....haha!! all those number codes! now we have lol.....ttyl...
back to Christmas, so after we opened gifts, Jon was grumpy. He was trying to hook up his Ps3 in the room to play his new game cause the kids were out in the living room playing their new Wii game! He got angry cause it wouldnt hook up. We chilled a bit then I started getting ready and asked him if he could help get things ready to go to my moms for brunch. He yelled at me and started going off on stupid stuff! So, needless to say, he ruined Christmas morning and we went to brunch without him.Part of me thought he would let go of his stubborness and show up, but I was wrong. I get so angry cause he takes us for granted and always acts like we are a bother. You want to be single? Theres the door....The scary thing is, to teach him a lesson, God may do something very sad....I cant think about that... him being taught a lesson, is not worth mine or my kids lives. I will be so angry.i cant think about it.....So, brunch was nice and the kids had a few more gifts to open, then we went home to Mr Grumpy and I told him I'm not going to his moms without an apology. He apologized, but I felt like it was to save face at his parents house. His mom already doesnt like the person hes become. He is so much like his dad.So we went to dinner, and it was nice. Our niece Kara is really coming out of her shell and socializing and singing and talking(she will be 3 in March)She is such a joy to watch!
New Years Eve, me and Jon decided(more like me)to stay home with the 2 dogs while the kids sleep over at my moms. Uncle Austin splurged on fireworks(being that its the last year to be able to do them) so the kids really wanted to go. I did miss them, but it was nice having quiet time...lol! quiet time with fireworks! Cody was scared and stayed by me every second of the night. as long as he was by me, he was ok. Roxy is retarted. She was fine until 11:30 and then all the sudden she hears the fireworks and runs under the bed! I was like, only now you hear them? What a goof! Our place wasnt as bad as I expected, but we got a nice view from our balcony at midnight.New Years day we picked up the kids and ate lunch at Banditos. We have been trying different things because Jaylene has a blast trying new food! Even if she doesnt like it, she loves being able to say she tried! Then we went to my inlaws for dinner. It was a nice day with my family and I hope and pray that 2011 brings good health, wealth and love.We are expecting 2 new babies in our family! Leana is due in May, expecting a boy and my cousins ex wife is also having a boy around the same time!So Jaylene is still the only girl, besides Kara on the Hu side. I hope Jen has another baby soon too! I think me and Jon are done. I dont want to be, but lets face it, we live in a 2 bedroom apartment, and I dont want to have more kids than I can provide. We'll see.....maybe things will change for the better!
