Jaylenes bday!!

Jaylene turned 7 on Dec 10!! yay! Her birthday happened to be on the days we had the bad rainstorm. So the night before her bday after she went to bed, I was putting together her crib for her baby dolls and as I was almost finished, the power goes out! So I had to finish with a flashlight and candles! Thank goodness I was just about done though! Her bday was on a friday so she woke up, got ready for school and opened 2 gifts which was a baby doll and rollerblades from Grandma Hu!! She has been wanting those for a very long time! Instead of making cupcakes or giving goody bags to her class for her bday, we bought a Dr Seuss card game set and wrapped it for her class. I know it seems boring, but a memo was sent home that an alternative to sugary cake or cupcakes or candies for bdays, your child can buy a game or book for the class to enjoy! So I thought that was a good idea! After school, she opened the rest of her gifts! For dinner she wanted to go to Genki Sushi! I didnt think anything of our being sick but when we sat down it dawned on me that this dinner is going to be a disaster. I was right.....Genki Sushi is a place where you can sit at the counter top and pick your sushi off the moving belt in front of you.....so moving belt+sick(coughing)family=a lot of stares from everyone!! I dont blame them....I would stare too and wonder why you are here when you are sick! And Eric doesnt remember, pretty much, ever, to cover his mouth when he coughs! So we spread the aloha(aka germs) lol!! this virus is crazy irritating! it lasts for weeks! crazy stuffy nose then turns into a crazy itchy cough, mostly cough fits that hurt your throat and give you a headache and make your mouth taste like blood. Anyway, where was I?? So after that disaterous dinner, we went to the movies to see if MegaMind was playing and it wasnt.....only during the afternoon.....so we went to Fun Factory! Then we drove around Mililani to look at the christmas lights....had some really nice decorated houses! then we went home and ate icecream cake!! it was a good day and Jaylene had fun! My phone was blowing up with all the calls from aunties and uncles for Jaylene! Lil miss popular!! Did I mention she keeps asking for her own phone! ha! keep dreaming girl.....the other day she came home from school and told me "mom, (some girls name)has a cell phone and shes not that much older than me" i said "well, good for her"

Sunday we had a beach get together at Koolina for her bday. So had my family(which is huge now) and Jons side of the family. Thankfully the storm had passed and the weather was nice. We snagged the tree that I wanted too! I made bentos at home for lunch. We had rice w/furikake,hotdog,teri spam and takuwan. Also my father in law bought apple napples and a tray from zippys with beef,katsu,fish......so lunch was good! Erics nose was draining all day(which was gross) Danielle ended up with someones mucus in her hair!! eewww! Jaylene saw a turtle in the water by the rocks but by the time I got there, it was gone! we did see a big black crab and lots of striped fish! the day was fun and all the kids enjoyed the water, especially cause anuty Jen brought some beach toys! thanks Jen!! Koolina is pretty strict with their rules! They dont allow any umbrellas or quick shades...and after throwing the football around on the grass, we learned we arent allowed to do that either!! crazy!! There is a Disneyland Hotel being built at koolina. It will be done next year sometime. We always talk about how we want to stay there. Actually we want to go to Disneyland after Eric is 5 and so far we have saved up $3.62!! woohoo!!!! and we dont even have enough flyer miles to fly to Maui so we suck!! so if anyone is generous enough to give us their miles, I will love you forever!! Me and Eric are heading out soon to Pearlridge to see a friend. Her brother came out with his own brand of balance band. Its called "Ionic Power" band!! So she no longer sells the Power Balance bands, and is now selling Ionic Power at Pearlridge !! So I am gonna pick up a couple as gifts....I am still wondering if anyone with vertigo has tried wearing one and if it helps! If it does, that is awesome! My daughter wears hers all the time and was even wearing it when she tried her rollerblades for the first time! She did great and I asked her if her bracelet helped her balance, she laughed and said " i guess so". she actually did great for her first try!! she looked cute with her protective pads on! when she first fell on her knees, she was like "wow, these pads are cool! i didnt even scrape my knee!" well, until next post......

what a weekend!!

Lets start with Friday(Dec 3) It was Jons 32nd birthday! yay! Woke up, gave him his boring gifts...he calls them boring cause its clothes and a new wallet, then we went out shopping for Jaylenes bday which is on the 10th!! Two december birthdays really puts a hole in my wallet! Anyway, we stayed out until it was time to pick up Jaylene. Then we chilled at home then left for Stuart Andersons for dinner! We havent eaten there for like 2 years! We always use the handy dandy coupons in the sunday paper(thanks to Jen for finding that for us). So we enjoyed our prime rib, my appletini, and the kids had a lot of fun! They were full off the bread and appetizers before their food came...figures...Jon didnt want cake so came home, chilled, then went to bed. We were all super tired. Saturday I had to work cause I made a switch with a coworker which ended up working out great for me! I dropped off the kids in Maili early then headed to work. Work was chaos, cause on top of me not working much(I have brain farts), a transformer blew by our store so it killed one of our computer programs. We had to fill scripts the old school way,and boy is that a pain! We totally rely on technology so when its gone, we are all running around like chickens with no head! I got through the day(making mistakes and forgetting things) but its all good. I had some good laughs with my coworkers, which I really miss! I miss all of them! I will be back to work soon...I hope. It makes me feel whole! I am a succeeder, so for me to stay home, is very hard for me. I feel like I am losing part of me. But I should be thankful I can stay home with my son. Not all parents can do that, and I take that for granted. I am thankful to have a husband who has a good job....picked up the kids after work only to hear Eric has spiked a fever again. His 1st fever was about 2 weeks ago and I thought he was getting better, even though he had a cough still. Saturday night I checked on him and he was burning up! I walked away and he started crying, so my instincts told me to grab him and run to the toilet! Sure enough, he started puking.....mostly mucus, its all trapped inside. I stayed up with him for awhile then he wanted to go to his bed. He slept good. Sunday morning, I called Straub and they said there is a 24 hour walk in clinic in town. So thinking I am so smart, I Google the clinic and drive to South King st, only to end up at Straub hospital. I was at the wrong place. And because I have a phone that has a crappy web browser, and the gps is a monthly subscription, I called my mom for directions. So I had to drive to Waikiki(which wasnt far). Thinking I knew what I was doing, I ended up on Kuhio st when I should have stayed on the strip of Waikiki. (I hate Waikiki....damn one ways) After turning around and driving through a slum area, I was on the right street, still lost, but going the right way. I had to stop for some japs to cross the road, and muttering under my breath, I looked around and sure enough theres Straub! If it wasnt for those japs, I wouldve passed it! Thank you Lord! The clinic was empty, thank goodness, and md was real nice. Eric ended up being fine, just a virus. After we left, Eric says "I'm still coughing" I said "honey, you're not gonna get better right away.we gotta go get medicine" So we went to Mcdonalds for lunch, which he didnt really eat, then we went to walmart(my favorite store) to get his medicine.Doctor just told us to get Robitussin CF.(which by the way, every house should have a bottle of this on hand) It is a great medicine! So, I went in there for a $4 bottle of medicine and left with a cart worth $100!! I hate my favorite store!! :) We went home and got some much needed rest. The End.
